I used to buy books from Harrods, in the days it was rather gloriously untidy and had an atmosphere. When I was in London, I'd also wander down Tottenham Court Road and Cecil Street-hunting for other emporiums. M<y bookshelves are full of memories but it was in Harrods that I came across this Wise Saying, from the East:"The Universe rewards actions not words."I think about that, quite a lot. So many wise words and so much horrible, horrible action. I'm thinking backlashes in the East, where so-called wise words from so-called wise organisations never got a chance against stupidity and greed, downwrong nastiness and self-serving political leaders. But I still buy the books, hoping against hope, that (and it can't come soon enough) that Wise Words will triumph.Perhaps the wisest are those , written about Karma-in all kinds of eastern and western ways:"What goes around, comes around."The thing abour Wise Words is that-if you ears to hear, you can listen! How many human beings can't read? How many get some very twisted thinking out of listening to some very twisted others? It really is about time Wise Words put their boots on, don't you think? What do they say?"Rumour has gone seven leagues before Truth has put its boots on."Wise Words need to walk their talk, I'm thinking.

I bought this for a friend who has a passion for unusual words and sayings. It arrived well packaged and very quickly. It was an anonymous gift so I don't know if the recipient appreciated it.
